Revival breaks out in Kenya
An excerpt from a report on Kenya...
Undoubtedly one of the most impacting meetings we had was the breakfast meeting for the pastors in the local area. More than 140 pastors arrived from across the region, many walking/travelling for hours to be present at 7.30am for the meeting. Even Pastor Mike was astounded at the turn out and had never seen such a gathering before.
The response from the pastors to Pastors Ken’s word was later described to be ‘unprecedented’ for such an occasion. And the hunger for God led to a deeper level of repentance for many.
During this time the spirit of prophesy came on Pastor Ken and he declared that “God says, ‘not long from now there will be an upturn in the economy here in Kenya, and when that happens it will be the sign that revival is about to come to this region and to this nation...,’ and God says ‘Kenya will be raised up as a great nation in God to be an example for the rest of Africa and in particular the Eastern African nations…’
In the last week a call went out across the radio from local pastors in Nakuru, calling the nation to repent so that God would bring revival. Expecting a few thousand, they prepared accordingly to dedicate the land to God again and to fast and pray. To their astonishment on the first day, Friday 1st June, more than 50,000 arrived on all modes of transport from all over Kenya and by Sunday more than 500,000 had gathered to fall on their faces before God in repentance and crying for forgiveness. The local police chief who was being driven past at the time stopped his car got out and removed his shirt, poured ash on his head and fell to the floor in repentance. Many were pouring in, dressed in sack cloth and ashes, desperate for God to forgive and cleanse their lives and the nation..
Such spontaneity and extremity can only be attributed to the power of God moving a people into the birthing pangs of his revival for Kenya. Praise God! Hallelujah!
